I don’t know about you, but my mind works in some really weird ways. As I drive I have some of my most brilliant ideas that usually come and then fade away, because I cannot remember anything for any extended period of time. However, this is how Remedy For This Heart came to be. I don’t know if any of you do this, but I am always thinking about what cool band names and album names would be. As I was driving, this phrase popped into my head, “Remedy For This Heart.” To which I said out loud to myself, “That would be a cool band name or at least a cool name for an album.” (End of conversation with self and dismissal of thought).

I drove for the next hour and the phrase never once crossed my mind. The rest of the day I hung out with an old friend and still it never crossed my mind. However, when I got back in my car to come home I was listening to a podcast from this place called Status church in Orlando. This guy name A.J. Sherrill was talking about meeting the needs of others and shared a story of how he had had this friend whose dad had suffered a heart attack. This family had an enormous hospital bill and was unable to pay for it. A.J. shared how he and his friends came together and helped to raise funds to help pay for part of the medical bills.

It was at that moment that the phrase “Remedy For This Heart” popped back into my cranial regions and I began to wonder what God was trying to show me through this story and this really cool band name. Turns out it was not a really cool band name at all and God was screaming into my soul to pray about what this all meant. I went home that night and asked my wife what she thought and she was as dumbfounded as me at first. Then she simply said this, “What if it means we are supposed to meet the needs of others and by doing so we become the “Remedy For Their Hearts” of brokenness.” I knew that I married this woman for good reason and this was one of the many. We began to pray and over the course of a couple of months God has unfolded a great story within us. Our desire is to reach out to those that are affected by POVERTY in this world. We have a huge desire to eradicate poverty globally.

There is a stat that it would take $20 billion to give basic health care, food and water to the world. That is what Americans spend on ice cream each year. As a result, we are starting a line of shirts called the ERADICATE line. The profits from each one sold will then go to eradicate world poverty. We will be working with many organizations globally to help this process. So you may be asking how can I help? Great question…I am so glad you asked. We need everyone possible to buy a shirt, to tell someone about how to help and become a catalyst to the broken and hurting people in this world. And if you are that broken and hurting person, we want to help you find ways to get help. This is an ever-growing story and we have no idea where it will lead, but we know that we are going to go and do whatever needs to be done to help people all over this globe. Thanks for your support in advance!!!
